Morpheus 8 is a handheld treatment device that combines fractional micro pins (the use of many tiny needles that puncture the skin at once) with radio frequency (RF) stimulation. This particular combination is extremely effective at stimulating and changing the skin in several ways.

First, microneedling of the skin creates extremely small puncture wounds over the treatment area. The skin itself is stimulated to heal; this healing process includes signalling molecules that cause the production of new skin cells. It also creates a cascade in the tissue that leads to the skin building new collagen and elastin molecules and increasing the overall content of these compounds in the skin.

Because of the combination of techniques, Morpheus 8 will affect the epidermis, the dermis, and the underlying fat layer for impressive results. Best of all, Morpheus 8 is safe to use on all skin types! The most treated areas include the face, neck, eye area, upper arms, abdomen, thighs, legs, and buttocks.

Morpheus8 can be used in the same treatment session, or a few days after certain treatments. Morpheus8 can also be combined with PRP, injectables and LED lights to achieve more extensive results.

Although this is considered a safe treatment, we will carry out a consultation prior to your treatment. During this consultation, we will take a full medical history to confirm your suitability for the treatment. You will also be asked to give informed consent. The procedure, its benefits and potential side effects will be explained to you. During this time, you are most welcome to ask any questions you may have. You will be provided with written after care instructions. We will make a recommendation for home care to further enhance your results. We will apply a topical anaesthetic cream prior to the treatment.

Following your treatment, you will have some redness and swelling of your skin. We will apply a mineral make-up immediately after the treatment to help conceal any redness. Depending on the size of the treated area, each session can take between 30 minutes to one hour.

Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue gradually for up to three months after your treatment. The effects of Morpheus 8 are long-lasting but not permanent. Duration of results is dependent on many factors such as skin type, lifestyle and age, generally.

You will see results from your first treatment! For optimal results and depending on your areas of concern, you can be expected to have between 2 – 3 sessions spaced at 6 – 8 week or 3-month intervals, depending on the consultation with or advice from your Doctor.

Immediately after treatment, most patients will experience erythema (redness) for 1-3 days, however for more aggressive treatments this may last longer. Slight to moderate edema (swelling) and a mild to moderate sunburn sensation are also common post treatment and may last 1-3 days. Skin may crust and peel for 2-7 days depending on treatment settings.

Before discharge a topical ointment will be applied to the face.
There are no restrictions on bathing except to treat the skin gently, avoid scrubbing or trauma to the treated area.
Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation.
The use of a zinc oxide sun block SPF 30+ at all times after 24-48 hours.
Multiple treatments over a period of several months may be required to achieve the desired response.
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment.
